Prophecy Girl Review

                                                    Book: Prophecy Girl
                                                   Author: Cecily White

About the book:

I was born to slay Crossworld demons.

Big black flappy ones, little green squirmy ones. Unfortunately, the only thing getting slain these days is my social life. With my high school under attack, combat classes intensifying, and Academy instructors dropping right and left, I can barely get my homework done, let alone score a bondmate before prom.

Then he shows up.

Jackson Smith-Hailey. Unspeakably hot, hopelessly unattainable, and dangerous in all the right ways. Sure, he’s my trainer. And okay, maybe he hates me. Doesn’t mean I’ll ignore the wicked Guardian chemistry between us. It’s crazy! Every time I’m with him, my powers explode. Awesome, right?

Wrong.

Now my teachers think I’m the murderous Graymason destined to bring down our whole race of angelbloods. Everyone in New Orleans is hunting me. The people I trusted want me dead. Jack and I have five days to solve the murders, prevent a vampire uprising, and thwart the pesky prophecy foretelling his death by my hand. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

Getting it done without falling in love? That might take a miracle.

My Review:

I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for review.

Cecily white has made a work of pure brilliance, and adventure that you won't want to put down. Between battling Demons, and having a great kick of romance; this is a work of paranormal art unlike any other I have read. Great writing for one, and another is the imagination of this story that seems so real, that I found myself living in the story as I read it. I also became part of the story until the very last page. I can't wait for the next book!

There is so much that made me love this book. Amelie is a strong female character, she may have her childish moments, but that is what makes her such a great character. Real people have their childish moments that soon develop into more mature moments, so of coarse that made her just so much more real in my mind. I was able to love all aspects of Amelie, because she felt real in every aspect, which means that you can get to know the characters better, and build a great bond with them, and that makes the book much more exciting. She grows into her full self in such a great way. You get to know every part of her in the end, and yet you still need more of her character at the end of the story. The mature, and spunky woman she becomes ensures how much more you need of this character, and her story.

The romance in this book was so realistic. Not only did I read about the romance becoming something real in the book, but I also felt every hungry for love moment, as well as the parts which can also be complicated. In the end true love is something great to have, and Jack and Amelie have it.

That being said I would definitely recommend this book to both teens, and adults that want a wonderful book to read.
